Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a Distribution Technician to receive, process, pack, and ship blood products for hospital orders. You will triage orders by urgency, select temperature‑controlled products, and ensure traceability of records.

You will work with hospital clients, volunteers, and vendors, maintaining safety and accuracy while meeting production goals. The role includes occasional hospital deliveries and a standard Tue–Sat 1430–2300 schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years' experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision‑making skills.
• Position may require a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products/samples are suitable for release for distribution, while meeting production goals.
• Perform inventory management throughout manufacturing and shipping processes.
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements.
• Perform data entry related to manufacturing, labeling, storage, ordering, and shipping; maintain records.
• Analyze and make decisions based on visual inspection and information from other departments to meet time and quality standards.
• Identify and quarantine products/samples that don't meet quality requirements; dispose of unacceptable product.
• May make hospital deliveries as assigned.
