Job summary

Vitalant is seeking a Hospital Distribution Technician to support our life-saving mission by managing the inventory of blood and blood products and facilitating packaging and shipment to local hospitals and patients.

You will work Sunday–Thursday, 7:00am–3:30pm in Brisbane, CA, with starting pay of $23.00–$24.40 hourly, based on experience. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth in a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid in-state driver's license.
• Six months of customer service experience required.
• Prior healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Able to lift 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare, and ship routing, ASAP and STAT orders of blood and blood products, conducting a visual inspection of each product prior to shipment to ensure order accuracy.
• Communicate with customers regarding order fulfilment, turnaround times, and product availability.
• Maintain accurate hospital service records for transactions and process fees.
• Monitor all storage requirements, service equipment and vehicle work areas.
• Please note: This position in this location does not drive often. May have to step in and deliver blood products to a hospital on occasion.
