Job summary

The City of Naperville, Illinois, seeks full-time 911 Telecommunicators to operate in our Emergency Communications Center, receiving and evaluating 911 and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, EMS and other assistance; triage life-safety requests and dispatch responses. The telecommunicator training program lasts a minimum of 28 weeks, including a 3-week classroom period and on-the-job training with certified trainers.

Uniforms are supplied after training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; at least 1 year of public-facing experience.
• CAD familiarity preferred; Associate degree also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and evaluate 911 and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, EMS and other assistance.
• Triage and prioritize requests for life-safety situations; dispatch and coordinate responses.
• Maintain contact with response units and monitor alarms and systems.
