Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Sprinkler Inspector to perform inspections, testing, servicing, and preventative maintenance on life safety systems in the field. You will inspect wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems, document findings clearly, and ensure all work remains compliant, reliable, and ready to perform when needed.

A strong focus on safety and customer service is essential. Ideal candidates read blueprints, use hand tools and a multimeter, and are willing to travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and retain licenses required by codes.
• Experience reading blueprints and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools and a multimeter.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections, testing, service, and preventive maintenance on life safety systems.
• Inspect wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• Accurately identify, document, and report deficiencies found during inspections.
• Complete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding using devices such as laptops and smartphones.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and complete inspections on time.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected when appropriate.
• Assist the foreman in installing sprinkler systems and related work.
• Perform other duties as directed.
