Job summary

Tech Electronics is seeking an experienced Project Manager to plan, execute, and close projects related to life safety and low-voltage systems on active construction sites across commercial buildings. You will coordinate with general contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure on-time delivery, within budget, and to specification.

The role requires 3–5+ years in building technologies, strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Office and project scheduling tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5+ years managing projects in the low-voltage/building technologies industry, focusing on life safety, security, or A/V systems.
• Familiarity with construction documentation, schedules, and site coordination is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution: Define scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria; develop detailed work plans, schedules, and job costing for life safety system implementations.
• System Focus: Manage installation and commissioning of NFPA-compliant fire alarms, burglar/intrusion, CCTV, access control, pro A/V, and intercoms in new construction and retrofit environments.
• Construction Site Coordination: Work with general contractors, site superintendents, other trades, and vendors to maintain schedule and safety compliance.
• Customer Relationship Management: Serve as primary contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle and build long-term relationships.
• Technical Oversight & Support: Collaborate with engineering/design teams to validate designs and support issue resolution during installation.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor performance and closeout; coordinate punch lists and ensure compliance with technical/contractual requirements.
• Financial Management: Track budgets, approve invoices and change orders, and ensure profitability targets.
• Team Leadership & Communication: Lead field technicians and subcontractors, run project meetings, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure installation per NFPA/NEC/ADA codes; promote OSHA-compliant safety culture.
• Process Improvement: Recommend and implement efficiency and quality improvements.
