Job summary
AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams in placing life insurance policies and servicing existing policies. The role involves gathering requirements, reviewing for completeness, and submitting to carriers and lenders for offers.
You will track exams and APS requests, update Salesforce Chatter, and follow through to completion, coordinating with case managers and regional leaders while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience.
- Experience with data entry and policy administration applications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Salesforce and SharePoint experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence.
Responsibilities
- Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow-up.
- Monitor underwriting timelines and escalate issues as needed.
- Work with carriers to issue policies.
- Download application kits and populate information for Case Manager review.
- Draft cover letters for Case Manager review.
- Assist with annual client summaries describing policy performance.
- Maintain organized underwriting files and update Salesforce/Chatter.
