Job summary

AmeriLife is hiring an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams in placing life insurance policies and servicing ongoing policies. You will gather requirements, track exams and APS requests, and update Salesforce Chatter while ensuring timely completion.

The role emphasizes accuracy, productivity, and customer service, with collaboration across case managers, carriers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.
• Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
• Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the case manager with carrier applications and follow-up efforts.
• Monitor cases throughout underwriting and escalate issues to the Case Manager as needed.
• Collaborate with carriers to issue policies and download/apply information for review.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Provide policy service support and prepare annual client summaries.
