Job summary

AmeriLife in Indianapolis seeks an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams in placing life insurance policies and servicing ongoing accounts. You will gather requirements, review for completeness, and coordinate with carriers and lenders, while tracking exams and APS requests in Salesforce Chatter.

You will assist with policy administration, renewals, and related client communications, maintaining underwriting files and executing administrative tasks for the team.

Qualifications

• Life-insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.
• Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts.
• Monitor underwriting timelines and escalate issues to the Case Manager when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies and download application kits for review.
• Draft cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist clients with routine policy service requests throughout the year.
• Prepare annual client summaries describing policy performance.
