Job summary

The Juris Agency in New York State is seeking a Life & Health Insurance Customer Service Representative to support clients across life, health, vision, and dental plans. You will act as a liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth service experience and compliant policy handling.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of insurance customer service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in insurance customer service or related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA/privacy standards.
• Familiarity with ACA marketplace plans and small group plans is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for client inquiries about life, health, vision and dental policies.
• Assist agents through the policy sale cycle.
• Provide accurate information regarding billing, claims and client service issues.
• Maintain client records in the agency management system with care.
• Respond to phone calls, emails, and portal messages promptly and professionally.
• Assist with processing applications, amendments, reinstatements, cancellations, and beneficiary changes.
• Review applications for completeness before submission to carriers.
• Track policy status and underwriting progress; follow up on requirements.
• Guide clients through the claims process with carrier procedures.
• Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely updates and resolutions.
• Ensure all interactions meet state regulatory and HIPAA privacy standards.
