Job summary

PruittHealth seeks a dedicated Recreation Therapist to design and maintain therapeutic programs for residents in a long-term care setting. You will collaborate with the Life Enrichment team to plan engaging activities that improve quality of life and align with care plans and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include designing, scheduling, delivering, and evaluating activities, documenting progress, coordinating transports as needed, and supervising volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field required.
• At least 1 year of experience in an activities or recreation program.
• National or state recreation certification and/or Certified Activities Professional designation preferred.
• Certified nursing assistant preferred.
• Experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides activities to assigned residents in a long-term care setting with therapeutic outcomes.
• Coordinates all aspects of a therapeutic recreation program for assigned residents.
• Evaluates resident interests and needs; develops and delivers activities to meet identified needs.
• Maintains documentation and charting for activity programming and care plans.
• Collaborates with campus staff and life enrichment team on events and programs.
• Supervises and trains assigned partners or volunteers.
