Job summary

NHC Place Sumner is seeking a full-time Life Enrichment Director to design and oversee memory care and assisted living wellness activities. The role requires compassion, organization, and creativity to enhance residents’ quality of life through engaging daily programming aligned with dementia care best practices.

The position involves coordinating assessments and care plans, leading staff and volunteers, and partnering with other departments to support community marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college, or two years of experience in long term care relevant to activities and memory care.
• Experience with dementia-focused wellness activities and programming preferred.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing a well-rounded wellness/activities program for Memory Care residents, including evenings and weekends.
• Complete assessments, care plans and related paperwork in a timely manner.
• Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings.
• Supervise wellness assistants: training, scheduling, evaluation.
• Manage the center volunteer program: recruitment, training, scheduling, recognition.
• Ensure compliance with local, State and Federal guidelines for programming.
• Collaborate with other departments to support marketing efforts in the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
