Job summary

NHC Place Sumner is seeking a Full-Time Assisted Living and Memory Care Life Enrichment Director to enhance daily life for residents in Gallatin, TN. The role focuses on developing meaningful wellness programs tailored to memory care, with attention to assessments, care plans, and family communication.

The ideal candidate demonstrates compassion, organization, and creativity, and will lead activities, coordinate volunteers, and collaborate with staff to uplift resident quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a wellness/activities program for Memory Care residents, including evenings and weekends.
• Complete assessments and care plans in a timely manner and maintain related paperwork.
• Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings.
• Supervise wellness assistants: training, scheduling, and evaluation.
• Manage the center volunteer program: recruitment, scheduling, and recognition.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines for programming.
• Partner with other departments to support community marketing efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Full Time Assisted Living and Memory Care Life Enrichment Director

NHC Place Sumner is seeking a Assited Living and Memory Care Life Enrichment / Recreation Director. Applicant must have a desire to work with seniors, be compassionate, caring and creative. The ideal candidate must be energetic, highly organized and have knowledge of the domains of wellness as it relates to programming in long term care, specific to dementia. Your goal would be to provide daily meaningful activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Specifically, you are responsible for:

• Developing and implementing a well-rounded wellness/activities program for Memory Care patients to include evenings and weekends, celebrating holidays and big events
• Timely completion of assessments, care plans and associated paperwork
• Facilitating monthly Resident Council meetings
• Supervising wellness assistants to include training, scheduling, evaluation, etc.
• Managing the center volunteer program to include recruitment, training, scheduling and recognition
• Ensuring that all local, State and Federal guidelines regarding programming are met
• Partnering with other departments to support marketing efforts in the community
• Other duties as assigned

Other important skills are:

• Compassionate desire to connect with and care for memory care patients
• Strong communication and time management
• Ability to be a team player and work with other departments to build staff morale
• Basic typing and computer skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Publisher specifically for producing monthly calendars and newsletters along with other external and internal marketing material

Education:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university or
Satisfactory completion of two years of college or
Two years of experience in long term care specifically relating to activities and memory care programming
