Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Life Enrichment Director to plan and implement meaningful activity programs across IL, AL and Memory Care, enhancing residents' physical and psychosocial wellbeing.

You will lead a daily activities schedule, collaborate with families and staff, manage budgets, and mentor volunteers, while ensuring compliance with company guidelines and maintaining a warm, dignified atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body, or two years of experience in a social or recreational program in the last five years, including one year in long-term care with seniors with Alzheimer’s/dementia.
• Be a Certified Dementia Practitioner or Eligible for Certification.
• Maintain state dementia-specific training requirements.
• Requires current First Aid and CPR certification or eligibility within 60 days of hire.
• Must have valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plans and develops an effective resident activities program for IL, AL and MC.
• Serve as a member of the facility’s management team to identify resident needs and participate in decisions.
• Attend resident association meetings and work with resident committees in advisory capacity.
• Provide a link between resident associations and staff.
• Coordinate a daily activities program in line with Harmony guidelines.
• Plan monthly programs for all levels of care (IL/AL/MC).
• Meet new residents to complete the Resident Life Profile.
• Involve Program Coordinator/Activities Assistant as needed.
• Consult with families regarding residents’ participation.
• Oversee the programming budget and expenses.
• Maintain activities area and supplies.
• Guide staff on life enrichment importance and quality of life.
• Support a dignified atmosphere for residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Coordinate and oversee volunteer opportunities.
