Job description

Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Life Enrichment Coordinator (Activities Coordinator) at our Cedarhurst of Springfield IL community.

As a Life Enrichment Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to connect with and positively impact the lives of our residents daily. You will assist in developing and overseeing the life enrichment program, including planning and coordinating activities that promote health, wellbeing, engagement, and growth.

Working with the Life Enrichment Director, you will:

• Plan, schedule, and lead community activities, holiday celebrations, and special events.
• Introduce new residents and their families to the community’s programs.
• Coordinate holiday decorations for the community.
• Assist with resident assessments, including completing or ensuring the completion of Life Stories.
• Record activity attendance and communicate with families via Cedarhurst’s electronic platform.
• Attend monthly virtual education meetings provided by Home Office Support.
• Drive the community bus for outings and appointments as needed.
• Ensure effective communication with residents’ families regarding residents’ care and wellbeing.
• Collaborate well with staff, take direction, and engage in conflict resolution as needed.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, moving, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Internet browsers, Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and HR systems.
