Job summary

Pioneer Village in Jacksonville, Oregon is seeking an enthusiastic Activity Assistant to support daily programs for seniors. You will plan, coordinate, and lead activities, while also assisting with safe transportation to outings and events.

The role emphasizes warmth, patience, and a genuine care for residents, with opportunities to grow within the team and contribute to a care-centered culture.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient, and kind with a heart for working with seniors.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record per company policy to drive resident outings.
• Ability to physically assist residents as needed.
• Positive attitude with a desire to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs.
• Encourage residents to participate in scheduled activities.
• Create a warm, friendly atmosphere with personal interest and fun.
• Provide safe, courteous transportation for residents.
• Ensure vehicle pre-trip inspections are completed before each trip.
• Be a team player and support the activities department when transportation needs are low.
