Job summary

Livingstone College seeks a Lieutenant/Telecommunications Manager to provide strategic direction and command of the campus emergency communications center and field supervisors. You will coordinate between telecommunications, sworn personnel, and external emergency agencies to ensure seamless operations.

The role requires senior leadership, expertise in emergency communications, and experience with public safety technology systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, emergency management or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public safety/communications field.
Experience in emergency communications, dispatch operations or communications center management.
CPR/First Aid Certification or able to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Provide executive leadership of telecommunications team and field public safety supervisors.
Ensure 24/7 operational readiness and continuity of operations.
Develop and improve communications protocols and SOPs aligned with best practices.
Lead communications during emergencies, critical incidents, and campus events.
Advise the Chief of Police on operational readiness, risk mitigation, and deployment strategies.
Lead after-action reviews and implement corrective strategies to improve response.
