A leading government agency in New York City is seeking a Community Associate to manage licensing applications for the trade waste industry. The New York City Business Integrity Commission (BIC) is a combined law enforcement and regulatory agency with jurisdiction over the trade waste industry and the public wholesale markets. Businesses seeking to operate in these industries must apply to and be Licensed or Registered by BIC.
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director of Licensing and Assistant Director of Licensing, the candidate will be responsible for processing applications, issuing BIC plates, and handling related administrative matters for businesses in the trade waste industry and public wholesale markets. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering inquiries from the public and applicants regarding licensing and registration, reviewing applications for completeness, accepting and processing fees, data entry, answering phones, filing, and covering the Agency Reception area.
The ideal candidate should be hardworking, professional, experienced in customer service with diverse communities, and capable of multitasking in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Residency in New York City is generally required within 90 days of appointment. Some employees may be eligible to reside in nearby counties after two continuous years of city employment.
