The City of New York is seeking a Community Associate to support the Business Integrity Commission. The ideal candidate will manage licensing applications, assist the public, and handle administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
The New York City Business Integrity Commission (BIC) is a combined law enforcement and regulatory agency with jurisdiction over the trade waste industry and the public wholesale markets. Businesses seeking to operate in these industries must apply to and be Licensed or Registered by BIC.
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director of Licensing and Assistant Director of Licensing, the candidate will be responsible for processing applications, issuing BIC plates, and managing related administrative tasks for businesses in the trade waste industry and public wholesale markets. Duties include, but are not limited to, answering inquiries from the public and applicants regarding licensing and registration processes, reviewing applications for completeness, accepting and processing fees, data entry, answering phones, filing, and covering the Agency Reception area.
The ideal candidate should be hardworking, possess a professional demeanor, have experience in customer service with a diverse community, and be capable of multitasking in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Residency Requirement: NYC residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. Employees with two continuous years of service may reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. Please discuss residency requirements with the agency at the time of interview.

Salary Range: $44,545.00 – $51,227.00
