Addison Group is partnering with a reputable organization in the insurance industry to find a detail-oriented Licensing Specialist. This is a great opportunity to join a compliance-focused team within a well-established company. The position is a direct hire and offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office).

Job Description:

The Licensing Specialist will handle licensing operations, including processing applications, managing appointments and terminations, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to manage licensing processes with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process new and renewal license applications for agents and agencies in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Manage the appointment and termination workflow, ensuring timely and compliant execution
  • Maintain and update licensing records and documentation using internal systems
  • Monitor license statuses, expirations, and generate compliance reports as needed
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to licensing requirements and documentation
  • Collaborate with departments such as legal, HR, and compliance to support ongoing licensing needs
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements to improve turnaround time and accuracy
  • Stay current with regulatory updates and assist in training new team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in insurance licensing or compliance, preferably within a regulated industry (e.g., insurance, financial services, healthcare)
  • Strong knowledge of insurance licensing standards and relevant compliance practices
  • Proficiency with licensing systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and manage complex documentation processes
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office per week (Chicago Loop area)
  • Business casual dress code
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
