IV’s Invention Investment Fund (IIF) is a pioneer in patent licensing, investing over $3 billion in patents across more than a thousand transactions, developing a comprehensive portfolio. Over the past 20 years, IIF’s patents have generated billions in licensing revenue, showcasing deep licensing expertise at a significant scale.

IIF seeks an experienced individual for a contract Licensing Engineer position, requiring extensive US patent monetization experience and in-depth technical knowledge in industries such as:

• AI/ML/Cloud Computing
• Wireless Communications
• Semiconductor
• Network Infrastructure

This remote contract position involves working up to 38 hours per week.

Summary of Project Responsibilities

1. Develop intellectual property monetization strategies based on IV’s patent portfolio.
2. Analyze the technology landscape and identify additional monetization opportunities.
3. Perform detailed technical analyses of markets or company products/services relative to the IV portfolio, including market reports, product documentation, teardown reports, reverse engineering, etc.
4. Review and select relevant patents within IV’s portfolio that relate to specific technologies, collaborating with IV team members.
5. Correlate the technical scope of patents with the company’s technologies, products, and services.
6. Identify and recommend technical experts to support account development, providing clear documentation of patent relevance.
7. Present documented evidence internally and externally as needed.
8. Demonstrate US patent monetization/licensing experience.
9. Understand the technical and legal scope of patents, including invention details and patent claims.
10. Education: PhD or Master’s in Communications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Computer Engineering, with at least three years of industry experience.
