State of Maine is seeking a Social Service Program Specialist II in Portland, Lewiston, or Augusta. This role supervises surveyors conducting licensing surveys and complaint investigations for assisted housing and behavioral health providers, with partial telework allowed with management approval.

You will coordinate activities, mentor staff, review deficiencies and plans of correction, and provide technical guidance to licensees.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of education and/or professional experience in social services.
• Investigative skills/abilities to determine underlying causes of non-compliance with regulations.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing healthcare facilities and social service programs.
• Experience leading a team in a supervisory role.

Responsabilités

• Supervise a team of surveyors conducting licensing surveys and complaint investigations.
• Provide orientation training for new staff and ongoing staff training.
• Review plans of correction and ensure acceptable responses to deficiencies.
• Complete performance evaluations for staff and assist in staff evaluations.
• Triage complaints and assign workloads.
• Provide technical assistance to providers and facilitate meetings on licensing requirements.
• Assist Program Manager with enforcement decisions and documentation.
• Review facility waivers and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Coordinate with other offices to ensure licensing issues are communicated.
• Monitor program reports and data to evaluate performance and inform decisions.
• Participate in onsite surveys.
