Job summary

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, is seeking a Compliance Officer to administer customer service for concealed weapon license applications and renewals. The role involves intake, verification, notarization, fingerprint processing, and payment handling in a busy state office.

Responsibilities include data entry into EDMS, reviewing documents for eligibility, and assisting in informal hearings.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with two years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
  • College education may substitute for required clerical experience at 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours per year.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
  • Educational note: foreign or credentialed education must be evaluated as required.

Responsibilities

  • Administers customer service for applications and licenses under Florida statutes.
  • Manage appointment calendars, examine and analyze documents, notarize oaths, scan fingerprints, photograph applicants, and process payments.
  • Issue and print renewal licenses.
  • Perform data entry and keep records in the EDMS system.
  • Respond to inquiries, interpret policies and Florida statutes, and review documents to determine actions.
  • Assist hearing officers in informal hearings and handle oath administration and hearing document data entry.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
