Job summary
Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse II at Brenham State Supported Living Center. Shift options include morning, evening, and night with potential extra pay for evenings/weekends and for maximum security locations.
The LVN will administer medications, perform complex nursing tasks, supervise and train LVN staff, and maintain detailed health records. Candidates must be LVN-certified in Texas and capable of teamwork in a medically fragile setting.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an LVN program is required.
- Active LVN license in TX or reciprocity state.
- CPR certification/ability to obtain ongoing training.
- Experience with electronic health records preferred.
- Experience caring for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administers medications and treatments; supports RNs and physicians.
- Mentors and trains new LVN staff and directs nursing care per plan.
- Performs nursing procedures and health screenings per regulations.
- Document in health records and monitor vital signs; update care plans as needed.
- Communicates clearly with team and supports safety and quality initiatives.
