Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Austin seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse II to provide skilled nursing care for residents at the State Supported Living Center. The role focuses on complex nursing tasks, medications, and care planning under RN supervision.

Evening shift, full-time, with opportunities for additional pay on evenings or weekends. Requires LVN licensure in Texas and CPR certification; telework is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an LVN program; Licensed to practice as LVN in Texas or reciprocity state.
• Current CPR certification and ability to maintain it.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is preferred.
• Ability to follow protocols and work under supervision with RN support.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments to residents as directed.
• Trains or mentors LVN staff and direct care staff.
• Performs complex nursing procedures per facility/state regulations.
• Documents treatments and observations accurately in medical records.
• Supports safety and health protocols and coordinates with RN Case Manager.
