• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or LVN program.
• Current nursing license in good standing with the California Board.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide quality patient care in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Able to work with professional and non-professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care as prescribed by physician/health care professional in accordance with the legal scope of practice, any Board of Licensing restrictions, and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
• Administers medications and provides care consistent with residents' highest practicable physical, mental, and emotional well-being; contributes to the nursing plan of care.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges residents in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Orients new residents/families as necessary.
• Gives/receives nursing reports and reviews daily patient assignments with CNAs.
• Maintains unit area in a clean and safe manner.
• Performs daily resident rounds and documents observations.
• Records care information accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Assists in developing and updating resident Plans of Care.
• Notifies physicians of significant changes and administers treatments as ordered.
• Supervises CNAs and participates in QA and infection control activities.
• Attends facility meetings and participates in discharge planning.
