Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in California is seeking a licensed professional nurse who will work under the supervision of an RN to provide nursing care and services to residents in a long‑term care setting.

You will admit and orient residents, monitor status, document care, administer medications as ordered, participate in care planning, supervise CNAs, and ensure compliance with nursing standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active California license.
• Current nursing licensure in good standing with the State licensing board.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide quality patient care according to standards, policies and procedures.
• Ability to identify and report problems with good judgment.
• Knowledge of nursing principles to maintain quality standards for residents.
• English language proficiency with minimal difficulty.
• Valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care as prescribed in line with scope of practice and facility policies.
• Administers professional services to support residents' physical, mental, and emotional well‑being.
• Gives and receives nursing reports at shift changes and coordinates with CNAs.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and safety for resident comfort.
• Performs daily resident rounds and documents observations in the medical record.
• Administers medications and completes treatments as ordered.
• Contributes to care plans and evaluates progress toward goals.
• Notifies physicians or guardians when significant changes occur.
• Supervises CNAs and assists in nursing assignments and performance.
• Participates in infection control and quality assurance activities.
