Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or LVN program
• Current nursing licensure in good standing with the State licensing board
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to provide quality patient care in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures
• Ability to identify and report problems, use initiative and good judgment to reach quality decisions
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices to ensure quality of care for residents
• Proficiency of the English language including speaking, reading, writing and comprehension
• Valid CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care as prescribed by physician in accordance with scope of practice and standards of care
• Admits, transfers, and discharges residents per policy
• Gives/receives nursing reports at shift changes and reviews daily patient rounds
• Maintains clean and safe unit environment for resident comfort
• Performs daily resident rounds to monitor status
• Records care information and documents resident observations and responses
• Assists in developing and updating resident plans of care
• Assists in rounds with attending physician and administers medications as ordered
• Notifies physician or guardian of significant changes in condition
• Participates in infection control and QA programs
• Supervises CNAs and assists in supervision of nursing personnel
• Attends care conferences and staff meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned
