AltaMed is seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Responsibilities include vital signs, phlebotomy, data gathering, and medication administration, with medication verification for Medical Assistants within the LVN scope of practice.

Graduation from an accredited LVN program with a valid California LVN license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LVN program with active California LVN license.
• Preferred 1 year outpatient/inpatient/clinic setting experience.
• IV certification preferred.
• Wound care experience preferred.
• Understanding of physical, mental, and social needs of patients.
• Bilingual may include English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese depending on location.
• Valid BLS or higher per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of RN or Physician.
• Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, data gathering, and medication administration.
• Verify medications for Medical Assistants within LVN scope of practice.

Job Overview

The LVN provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The LVN tasks include vital signs, phlebotomy, gathering data, and medication administration. The LVN verifies medication for Medical Assistants within the LVN’s scope of practice.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited LVN school with a current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.


• Preferred 1 year of providing patient care outpatient/inpatient, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, or clinic setting.


• IV certified preferred.


• Preferred wound care experience.


• Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental, and social needs of the patients.


• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location preferred.


• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

Pay for this job starts at $31.93 hourly
