Job summary

AltaMed Health Services Corp. is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in California to deliver direct patient care under RN or physician supervision.

The role involves vital signs, phlebotomy, data collection, and medication administration, with verification of meds for Medical Assistants within the LVN scope. Preferred candidates hold a California LVN license, IV certification, and 1 year of relevant care experience in clinics or similar settings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LVN program with an active California LVN license.
• Preferred 1 year of patient care in outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing, home health, or clinic.
• IV certification preferred.
• Wound care experience preferred.
• Bilingual abilities in English and additional languages depending on location.
• Current BLS certification or higher per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Job Overview

The LVN provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The LVN tasks include vital signs, phlebotomy, gathering data, and medication administration. The LVN verifies medication for Medical Assistants within the LVN's scope of practice.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited LVN school with a current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
• Preferred 1 year of providing patient care outpatient/inpatient, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, or clinic setting.
• IV certified preferred.
• Preferred wound care experience.
• Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental, and social needs of the patients.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

Pay for this job starts at $31.93 hourly.
