Job summary

AltaMed Health Services Corp. is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Huntington Beach, CA to deliver direct patient care under supervision of a RN or physician. The LVN will perform vital signs, phlebotomy, data gathering, and medication administration within their scope of practice.

Ideal candidates hold a CA LVN license with graduation from an accredited program and may have IV certification. BLS or higher is required; bilingual abilities are preferred depending on location.

Qualifications

• Must hold a CA LVN license and graduate from an accredited LVN program.
• Preferred 1 year of outpatient/inpatient patient care in clinic settings.
• BLS certification or higher required per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of RN or physician.
• Take vital signs and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Gather data and assist with medication administration.
• Verify medications for Medical Assistants within LVN scope.

Job Overview

The LVN provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The LVN tasks include vital signs, phlebotomy, gathering data, and medication administration. The LVN verifies medication for Medical Assistants within the LVN's scope of practice.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited LVN school with a current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
• Preferred 1 year of providing patient care outpatient/inpatient, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, or clinic setting.
• IV certified preferred.
• Preferred wound care experience.
• Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental, and social needs of the patients.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

Pay for this job starts at $31.93 hourly
