Job summary

The ASPCA Community Medicine team is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our Queens, NY-based Community Veterinary Clinic. You will work on HQHVSN, preventive care, and outpatient procedures, supporting veterinarians and CM staff in care for cats and dogs in underserved communities.

Qualifications

Must have graduated from an accredited school of veterinary technology (2- or 4-year program) or equivalent per NYS Education Department.
Surgery/anesthesia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Care for 35-40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery.
Administer injections including anesthetics, pain medications, vaccinations and other meds.
Intubate animals, place IV catheters, perform venipuncture and administer fluids.
Monitor vital signs pre-, during, and post-operatively.
Provide treatments per CM SOPs and attending Veterinarian.
Maintain controlled substance logs and patient records.
Assist with humane euthanasia as per ASPCA policy.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in training.
