Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tukwila, WA is hiring Licensed Veterinary Technicians for our fast-paced ER department. We offer a $5,000 sign-on for qualified candidates and multiple day/evening/night shifts, with a starting LVT pay of $26.75–$51.32 per hour.

We provide shift differentials for nights and weekends and opportunities to grow within Kahuna leveling system. A rewarding role caring for critically ill pets, with mentoring and ongoing learning in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician required.
• Emergency/ER experience preferred.
• WA state veterinary license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia.
• Triage and monitor emergency cases and vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Maintain IV access and administer medications as directed.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Provide compassionate care to critically ill or injured pets.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our ER department in Tukwila, WA!

*$5,000 sign-on bonus eligible for qualified candidates!*

Schedule: Full-time, multiple shifts available , day/evening/overnight/weekdays/weekends

LVT Pay: $26.75 - $51.32/Hr

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.*

For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00


• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50


• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.


• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.


• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.


• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.


• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.


• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.


• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.


• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.


• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.


• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.


• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
