The role emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and strong communication, with responsibilities ranging from patient prep to anesthesia support and medical record documentation. Experience with surgery and dentistry is preferred.

Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary technician experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, team player with professional demeanor.
• Telephone and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vital signs, and document history in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, process lab samples, dispense medications as directed, and maintain records.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, and manage inventory and accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthetized patients, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and keep patients clean, fed, and cared for.
• Participate in training of new staff and support hospital operations.
