Job summary

Community Veterinary Partners is seeking a Veterinary Technician for ER/Urgent Care in Lisle, IL. Join our small animal emergency team to care for patients needing immediate attention alongside veterinarians and support staff.

This full-time role features evening shifts and a weekend rotation, with a focus on rapid assessments and compassionate care. We welcome both credentialed and non-credentialed technicians who are eager to learn emergency medicine, with CVT preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of veterinary technician experience.
• Hands-on veterinary technician experience.
• Comfortable with blood draws, IV catheter placement, restraint, and patient monitoring.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication with teammates and clients.
• Willing to learn and develop emergency medicine skills.

Responsibilities

• Care for hospitalized and emergency patients.
• Administer treatments and medications.
• Collect blood and place IV catheters.

Emergency Veterinary Services of Lisle | Lisle, IL

Schedule: Full-Time | 4 evening shifts + 1 weekend shift weekly

Hours: Weeknights 4:00 PM–11:00 PM + one 12-hour weekend shift

Pay: $23–$30/hour, based on experience, credentials, and qualifications

When pets need emergency care, having a skilled and dependable technician makes all the difference. Emergency Veterinary Services of Lisle is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our small animal emergency team.

You’ll work alongside veterinarians and other veterinary professionals caring for patients who need immediate attention. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, stays calm in a busy environment, and wants to build or expand their emergency medicine skills.

You do not need previous emergency experience to apply. We welcome both credentialed and non-credentialed technicians who have a solid clinical foundation and are ready to learn.

Your Schedule

• Full-time position
• Four evening shifts each week, 4:00 PM–11:00 PM
• One 12-hour weekend shift each week
• Weekend availability is required
• Some holidays are part of the schedule
• No overnight shifts

A Typical Day May Include

• Caring for hospitalized and emergency patients
• Administering treatments and medications
• Collecting blood and placing IV catheters
• Running in-house diagnostic testing
• Obtaining and positioning patients for radiographs
• Assisting with surgical procedures
• Monitoring patients under anesthesia
• Safely handling and restraining patients
• Keeping veterinarians updated on patient status
• Communicating with pet owners and providing care instructions
• Communicating with referring veterinary practices when needed
• Helping with reception or other hospital needs when necessary
• Keeping treatment areas and equipment clean, stocked, and organized

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with at least one year of veterinary technician experience who is comfortable with the fundamentals of patient care.
