Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for our Emergency department in Grand Rapids, MI. This role supports veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, and critical care in a fast-paced setting.

We offer a mix of part-time and full-time schedules with shifts including overnights. Competitive compensation ranges from $21 to $30 per hour plus a $3/hour differential for overnight hours, and extensive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• LVT license in Michigan or eligible for transfer.
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions in fast-paced emergency care.
• Passion for delivering exceptional patient care and client service.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Perform and monitor anesthesia and monitor hospitalized patients.
• Handle and prepare lab samples; operate in-house diagnostics.
• Record histories and update medical records in the PIMS system (EzyVet).
• Educate clients regarding condition, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and safety protocols.

Schedule: Part Time & Full Time Available | FT Hours Are 3 Twelve Hour Shifts Per Week - Overnight Availability Required | Shift Bid Every 6 Months | Rotating Weekends & Holidays

Compensation: $21-30/hr Dependent On Experience | $3/hr Shift Differential For Hours Worked Between 11pm & 7am

In Your Day-To-Day, You Will

• Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, and treatments
• Strong technical skills; IVC placement, administering medications, and monitoring hospitalized patients
• Perform and monitor anesthesia (ECG, SpO₂, EtCO₂, NIBP)
• Provide surgical support and post‑op care
• Handle and prepare lab samples; operate in‑house diagnostics
• Accurately record histories and update medical records in the PIMS system (EzyVet)
• Maintain accurate and detailed communication logs, handle department voicemail, client callbacks, and documentation
• Educate and communicate with clients regarding their pet's condition, treatment plans, review of estimates, and follow‑up care
• Maintain hospital cleanliness, follow safety protocols, and support inventory.
• Ability to learn advanced skills and use them to the fullest
• Ability to participate in clinical trials and as a result, be a part of improving medicine for pet health for the future
• Other duties as assigned by leadership

What You Bring

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Michigan or eligible for Michigan license transfer.
