Qualifications

• Must possess a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or counseling.
• Must obtain and maintain a license as a mental health professional regulated by a state board (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC).
• Have minimum two-year experience in Drug and Alcohol counseling.
• HIPAA/client confidentiality and personal rights familiarity.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional casework and clinical services with clients.
• Assesses and monitors client behavior during treatment for substance use.
• Works as a team member with other professionals.
• Participates in evaluative and diagnostic staff conferences.
• Conducts individual, family, and group therapy; interviews clients and relatives.
• Participates in collaborative treatment with other agencies.
• Prepares verbal, written, and statistical reports.
• Attends trainings to stay current on mental health methodologies.
• Operates a computer and office equipment; communicates effectively.
• Analyzes data and interprets directions; handles stressful conditions.
• May have lead and special coordination responsibilities.
