Job summary

STV is seeking a motivated Staff Surveyor (RPLS) to join our Texas survey team. This role offers flexibility to be based in any STV Texas office and focuses on boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and utility surveys for transportation and infrastructure projects.

You will collect data using GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and digital levels, preparing field notes and deliverables with Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• License in Texas as a Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) or the ability to obtain via reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Support a wide variety of survey assignments across transportation, municipal, utility, and infrastructure projects.
• Collect, process, and verify survey data with modern equipment (GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, digital levels).
• Prepare field notes, sketches, and project records for high-quality deliverables.
• Import field data and assist with deliverables using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, MicroStation.
• Help establish survey control and support construction layout.
• Assist with plats, legal descriptions, easement exhibits, and right-of-way mapping.
• Perform quality checks to meet project requirements and STV standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to keep projects moving forward.
• Promote safe work practices in field and office environments.
• Continue expanding surveying technical knowledge and industry standards.
