Job summary

MasTec Power Delivery seeks a Licensed Surveyor to support nationwide transmission line and substation projects. The role provides surveying expertise through pre-construction, construction, QC, and closeout stages, in both field and office environments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in transmission/substation or heavy civil work, with licensure as a PLS/PS and proficiency in GNSS, total stations, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and Trimble TBC. Must be willing to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Active PLS/PS license with ability to obtain additional state licenses.
• 5+ years of professional surveying experience in transmission, substation, or heavy civil work.
• Strong knowledge of survey control, coordinate systems, and datums.
• Ability to interpret civil, structural, and electrical drawings.
• Proficient with GNSS/GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and survey software.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional surveying services for major transmission and substation projects.
• Establish and maintain project survey control, benchmarks, and coordinate systems.
• Perform boundary, topographic, construction, layout, and as-built surveys.
• Provide construction layout for transmission structures, foundations, roads, and utilities.
• Verify construction activities against plans and specs.
• Lead and coordinate survey crews, subcontractors, and third-party firms.
• Support project teams with survey-related technical guidance.
• Maintain accurate survey records and project deliverables.
• Promote safe surveying practices on active sites.
