Job summary

BGE, Inc. is seeking a licensed Land Surveyor to join our Tampa, FL team. You will independently evaluate surveying methods, supervise field crews, and seal surveying documents for civil projects.

The ideal candidate has a PLS license or FDOT precertification, 8+ years’ experience in land surveying, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office. Strong client communication is essential.

Qualifications

• PLS Licensure/FDOT Precertification required.
• 8 years of experience in Land Surveying.
• Strong computer skills with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation and Microsoft Office.
• Prior experience with civil engineering projects preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of BGE employees, clients, and others.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard surveying techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
• Plan, schedules conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the surveying work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
• Perform work that involves conventional surveying practice but may include a variety of complex features.
• Direct conversations with clients at beginning, during, and end of projects.
• Capable of supervising or coordinating the work of surveyors, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
• Seal professional surveying documents.
