Job summary

BGE, Inc is a nationwide civil engineering consulting firm providing surveying, planning, landscape architecture, construction management, and environmental services for public and private clients. A Senior Land Surveyor will independently evaluate techniques, plan project phases, and coordinate fieldwork while supervising team members and sealing documents.

The role requires PSM licensure and 8 years of land surveying experience, with MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer proficiency and roadway

Qualifications

• PSM Licensure and 8 years of Land Surveying experience, FDOT experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Experience with roadway projects and strong client interaction.
• Strong verbal and written communication with all levels of staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard surveying techniques with minor adaptations.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate surveying work for parts of major projects.
• Perform work involving conventional surveying with potential complex features.
• Direct conversations with clients at project milestones.
• Capable of supervising or coordinating surveyors and technicians.
• Seal professional surveying documents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard surveying techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
• Plan, scheduled conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the surveying work in a part of a major project or a total project of moderate scope
• Perform work that involves conventional surveying practice but may include a variety of complex features
• Direct conversations with clients at the beginning, during, and end of projects
• Capable of supervising or coordinating the work of surveyors, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments
• Seal professional surveying documents
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• PSM Licensure
• 8 years of experience in Land Surveying. FDOT experience is preferred
• Strong Computer Skills, working knowledge of MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer
• Prior experience with roadway projects
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of BGE employees, clients, and others
