Job summary

Platte Canyon School District is seeking a substitute teacher district-wide to support classrooms across the district. This position requires the ability to follow approved curricula and adapt to different grade levels.

Applicants must hold a Colorado Teaching License or Substitute Teaching Authorization, have First Aid/CPR, and pass a clear background check; strong communication with students, parents, staff, and administration is essential.

Qualifications

• Colorado Teaching License or Substitute Teaching Authorization from CDE
• First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and administration
• Clear background check through fingerprint submission to CBI and BIS

Responsibilities

• Instruction in a classroom setting based upon approved curriculum.
• Assess student needs, progress and achievement: diagnose and remedy weaknesses.
• Exhibit excellent classroom management skills that enhance learning and maintain control over behavior.
• Use effective instructional strategies using appropriate teaching materials.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
• Follow sub plans left by teacher.
