Job summary

Forte & Tablada in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis of building, light-industrial, and public-works projects. The role emphasizes ownership, autonomy, and collaboration with civil teams to deliver code-compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil or Structural (Louisiana license or ability to obtain).
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 4+ years of experience in structural design (building or industrial); candidates with 6+ years and a track record of project leadership are encouraged.
• Strong background in hands-on structural design and project production.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (RAM, RISA, STAAD, or similar).
• Experience with Revit; working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis for building, light-industrial, and public-works structures.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with civil teams and other disciplines to deliver integrated, code-compliant designs.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure quality and code compliance.
• Support construction administration, including review of shop drawings, RFIs, and site visits.
• Leading design production and execution across multiple active projects.
• Managing schedules and budgets to meet project deadlines.
• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development.
• Serving as the primary client-facing technical lead on assigned projects.
