Job description

Freese and Nichols is actively seeking a Licensed Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Lead Structural Engineer, you will help expand our growing Structural practice through technical execution of projects and developing staff.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

  1. Assisting and/or leading efforts in the analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications for various concurrent projects.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and execute projects.
  3. Project types may include heavy civil projects (e.g., dams, flood and retaining walls, water treatment facilities, and water transmission facilities) as well as architectural projects (low to mid-rise commercial, educational, and industrial buildings).
  1. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with project teams (both internal and external).
  2. Serve as a trusted advisor, understanding project needs and providing tailored solutions.

Staff Development:

  1. Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  2. Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages growth and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  2. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  3. 6+ years of structural design experience
  4. Strong leadership and communication skills
  5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
  2. Experience on federal projects
