Job summary

Volunteers of America–Greater New York seeks a Licensed Social Worker/Client Care Coordinator (LMSW) to deliver clinical services to families in transitional housing settings in the Bronx, NY 10452. The role involves engagement, assessment, service planning, crisis intervention, and referrals to community resources.

The position supports family stabilization and behavioral health, working toward permanent housing with the social service team and providing on-call crisis intervention as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work with LMSW Licensure and 1–2 years’ experience.
• Knowledge of adult, child and adolescent development, emotional/behavioral health, and family dynamics.
• Experience with diverse client populations and child welfare policies.

Responsibilities

• Complete psychosocial assessments for all families in shelter and develop individualized service plans.
• Complete Assessment Summary and determine intervention type for each family.
• Maintain service documentation including progress notes and incident reports.
• Provide on-call crisis intervention support.
• Participate in individual service coordination, including vocational/educational services and social/recreational activities.
• Develop community linkages and refer families to appropriate community providers.
