Job summary

The Behavioral Health Service Clinical Specialist at Lake Washington School District serves as a licensed behavioral health professional within the Special Services Department and plays a critical role in supporting the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs of students.

This role provides direct counseling, collaborates with educators, families, and community providers, and develops comprehensive interventions including FBAs and PBIS plans.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mental health field and appropriate licensure.
• Licensed credentials recognized in Washington State.
• Experience providing behavioral health services to children and families.
• Experience in educational settings and IEP processes preferred.
• Training in CBT/DBT/LSCI and MTSS/PBIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family-centered behavioral health services to students.
• Assess student strengths, needs, barriers, and risk factors impacting school success.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to promote self-regulation and social-emotional skills.
• Support crises with assessment, intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning.
• Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, nurses, and families to support student well-being.
• Attend IEP meetings and contribute clinical expertise regarding behavioral health goals.
