Job summary

Pavilion Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ottawa, IL team. The RN assumes responsibility for a group of residents per shift, delivering care through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

The RN will provide licensed care, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and supervise CNAs while ensuring compliance with regulations. A nursing degree, current RN license, and CPR certification are required; 1 year of experience and long-term care

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification required.
• Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
• Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Long-Term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Ensures assigned work area is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Directs and supervises the day-to-day CNA services for the unit to assure care is rendered per standards.
• Takes and records residents’ blood pressure and vital signs; administers IV therapy and respiratory care as ordered.
• Receives and transcribes physician orders to charts and MAR.
• Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered.
• Charts nurses notes documenting care and resident response.
• Counts all controlled drugs with the nurse at shift change; notes discrepancies.
• Ensures resident environment is free from accidents; addresses safety risks.
• Makes reports/recommendations about shift activities.
• Admits/transfers/discharges residents to meet needs and safety.
• All other duties as assigned.
