Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to implement plans of care under the supervision of a physical therapist. You will educate patients and families, document care, and deliver interventions such as therapeutic exercise, gait training, ultrasound, and aquatic therapy.

You will collaborate closely with PTs and care teams, ensuring communication and adherence to program requirements while maintaining high-quality patient care across ages.

Qualifications

• Graduate with an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant (IDFPR Illinois) or eligibility.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; continuing CE as required.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and staff using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response with clear communication.
• Document all activities per CTSCP67 policy; complete required annual education for program requirements.
• Provide therapy interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy.
