Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in New York is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team. You will work under a supervising physical therapist to help residents regain mobility and independence.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited PTA program with NY licensure (or actively pursuing licensure) and a passion for geriatric care. We offer a competitive full-time schedule, mentorship, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• Foster a cooperative relationship within the healthcare team.
