Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team in New York. You will assist therapists, follow the care plan, and help residents regain independence through targeted exercises and therapies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new grads with fieldwork encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with applicable regulations.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team.
