Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is hiring a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility. Ideal candidates will be graduates of an accredited PTA program with a currently licensed New York PTA credential and experience in geriatric care; new grads are encouraged to apply with relevant fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new graduates with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques such as stretching and massage; assist with specific exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Foster a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.
